Windows of Displacement

Wednesday 13th November

Windows of Displacement is a powerful and exciting solo show, that blends dance, song and spoken word to explore diverse identities in today’s England, travelling through ancestral memory and the shifting and urgent politics surrounding the movement of people.

Born in Jamaica and living in the UK Akeim explores themes of imperialism, colonialism and displacement, creating an evocative story of the past, present and future of humanity. Prepare to be taken on a whole new experience of dance, to reclaim our collective responsibility.

“Windows Of Displacement is a powerful and prescient work. Akeim is a gifted storyteller, effortlessly weaving resonant historical accounts, sharp social commentary and compelling autobiography together with beautiful movement to create a captivating hour of theatre." Gilly Roche - New Work Producer, West Yorkshire Playhouse
