Dance Reading is a celebratory festival of dance that takes place in Reading.

With something for everyone, this ambitious festival features exceptional performances, engaging workshops and a whole array of dance events that invite audiences of all ages to discover new experiences with dance.

Commissioned as part of Reading’s Year of Culture our first festival in 2016 aimed to both engage new audiences through compelling dance performances alongside providing something new for existing dance fanatics.

Dance Reading 2019

Supported by a wide range of local organisations, our 2019 festival focussed on inspiring new experiences in dance, offering audiences a chance to immerse themselves in dance in a way that they never had before.

In 2020, we went online, offering an enticing mix of workshops, interactive performances and digital previews. Our community showcase JUMP! saw contributions from over 25 local dance schools and artists with 100’s of audiences viewing live and for re-streams.
